Sharing Circles are intimate gatherings where participants can share their experiences, challenges, and victories in their life in a safe and supportive environment. These virtual meetings create a space for meaningful connection and community building, even when physical distance separates us.
The power of these circles lies in their dual benefit: both sharing and listening contribute to personal growth and community strengthening.
When sharing, participants experience:
The relief of expressing themselves authentically
Validation through others' understanding and acknowledgment
Connection with others who may have similar experiences
The opportunity to gain new perspectives on their journey
As active listeners, participants develop:
Deep empathy and understanding for others' experiences
The ability to hold space without judgment or the need to fix
Enhanced communication skills through practiced presence
A broader perspective on the experiences of others
Our sharing circles follow these key principles:
Non-judgmental acceptance of all experiences shared
Confidentiality - what's shared in the circle stays in the circle
Active, empathetic listening without interruption
Optional participation - no pressure to share
Respect for different viewpoints and experiences
These sessions will be facilitated by experienced community members who ensure a balanced, safe, and supportive environment for all participants. Each month, we explore a different theme to encourage deeper self-reflection and vulnerability. These themes invite participants to explore aspects of themselves they might typically keep hidden. While we offer monthly themes to guide our discussions, participants are always welcome to share any present life experiences or challenges, whether or not they directly relate to the theme.
We have a minimum of 3 participants for the session to occur, as sessions are not recorded and are not to be participated in during a later time.
Challenging connections
For this session we look at ‘challenging connections’. Are there any relationships in your life, with a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor where you feel communication gets stuck, you often have negative feelings towards this person or they always get under your skin?
This theme explores how these challenging relationships often mirror our own internal struggles or unresolved issues. By sharing these experiences, participants can gain insights into their own patterns of interaction and learn from others who have navigated similar relationship dynamics. The group provides a supportive space to explore these connections and develop ideas and strategies for healthier communication and boundaries.
